Sill no luck with the horses. Effingham was last in his race and Skid Solo was last but one – not the results I was looking for. It’s all small fry compared to Max’s run on Sunday, and I haven’t wasted any luck.
Effingham was truly awful and we couldn’t find any obvious excuses. He’s destined for the July sale at the moment and as things stand I’m not going to get much for him. The best chance of a turnaround seems to be a change of scenery – I’m having him moved to Nicky Vaughan, more in hope than anything else.
Skid Solo was also a real disappointment. He may not have handled the ground and we think he’s a bit better than that, but we’ve had to mark our opinion of the horse right down. He’ll probably have a bit of a break now hoping that that brings some improvement.
The ground at Newmarket seems to be holding up. Bring it on…
