The heavy rain of the past few days have got into the ground pretty much everywhere, and this changes my betting strategy. I won’t be placing any big bets for a while, but I’ll have a few small ones on outsiders with the right sort of breeding. Today I’ll back Indian Days in the 7.10 at Windsor and Chunky’s Choice in the last, small win and place.
Soft ground takes some horses out of the pucture for now, but brings others into it. Horses like Shawhill and Baldovina will go well on softer ground. King’s Head was supposed to run at Ascot on Saturday, but we pulled him out on account of the ground, and he won’t come out until it goes G/F again.
