I have a runner tonight – Cheddar George goes in the 6:55 at Kempton.
Last time he ran he came with a late run that looked as if it was going to get him there, but he stopped suddenly. As it happened he had burst a blood vessel – not a great sign but the first time he had done it. Darryl Holland had settled him in last place and had asked for the big run just over a fuirlong out – it was a real burst of acceleration.
We’re hoping today that a more gradual build up of speed will sort out the blood vessel problem – he will be ridden prominently. I think he’ll get home ok – I’m not sure he’s suited to front run but he’s scopey enough and he’s a more mature horse now. Fingers crossed.
I’ll do a longer blog later.
