Hoorah!! Another win for the heroes as Major Eazy triumphs at Salisbury in a pretty hot conditions race under a nice ride from Richard Hughes. He was returned at 12-1, but there was clearly a bit of money for him (ahem…). He’ll go into the sales at some point and this will have done him no harm at all – we’ll probably run him again before the end of the season though and he could easily follow up.
I laughed when I read the spotlight write up in the RP;
Following a couple of dropped-in-at-the-deep-end missions in Group company, MAJOR EAZY was much more at home in this juvenile conditions event and provided a bit of a turn up as he lowered the colours of the runner-up, who is much better on official figures.
However, the key to the winner is cut in the ground, which he got here, and there was no fluke about the win in the conditions. Where connections go with him now is anybody’s guess.
Well unfortunately we’ve missed the Middle Park but there may still be time to supplement him in the Abbeye. I’ll give Brian a call.
Anyone would think that the Racing Post think I’m an optimistic loony. How dare they! Anyway on to other things, and Shawhill runs in the 3.45 at Newmarket today where she takes on the likes of Tranquil Tiger and Lion Sands. It’s asking a lot to tame a lion and a tiger, but I have no doubt that my little filly will make mincemeat of these pretenders. Bring it on!!!
