Ugh. This season is going from bad to worse – it’s the fourth time I’ve decided to have a big bet on a horse the day before the race only to change my mind on the day and then see it win (others were Osana, Twist Magic, Denman). I think I suffer from having too much information – I was probably better off when it was just me and my analysis.
Well it’s not all bad. At least I’ve been picking the right horses and I actually made money betting over the break – also my ten to follow is flying high with 276 points. I won’t be betting today but I’ll be watching Denman in the Lexus.
I had a good chat with Nick yesterday. He thought Ours was a little unlucky and could have won under a more aggressive ride. He was obviously really happy about Straw Bear, and although he believed Harchibald was a better horse on paper they won by employing the right tactics, which was very satisfying.
Shepherd’s Warning gives me an interest tomorrow night in another claimer.
