Swindon’s season proper kicks off on Saturday and I’m a little nervous but also excited. It’s been a while since I’ve supported a team properly and I’ve never been as close to the action as I am now.
I think the early matches are extremely important, as we’ve done a lot to try and get attendances up and we need to entertain to keep the new supporters engaged. I’m actually pretty happy with the new signings – prudent rather than spectacular perhaps but it feels like MM is working at the core of the team rather than trying to attract attention with fancy names (not that he has the budget to do that…), which I think is the way forward.
I’m not going to the Tranmere match but I’ll make it along to the QPR game on Tuesday.
